A Girl and an Orange Suit - goes to the Highlands…and sees Jamie from Outlander

While everyone was dancing at the Taylor Swift concerts on the weekend, I was immersed in the Outlander Universe.

✨ Outlander is my absolute favourite show ✨ Those who know me, know my love for the show and anything set in the past). Outlander chronicles Claire's journey through time to encounter Jamie and follows their love story....I literally screamed when I saw that several cast members were coming to Australia.

The event was amazing, but a little different - there are some serious fans out there. I thought I was one, but I realised there exists a realm of fandom beyond my own 😃

We were given strict instructions on what you could do or say to the actors while getting their photo or autograph, so I was a bit nervous when I had my photo with Jamie a.k.a Sam Heughan, not wanting to say anything wrong. It ended up being literally 5 seconds of interaction. I can confirm he is so lovely and very tall...although by the time I got his autograph in the afternoon, (the photo was taken in the morning), he was exhausted. I suppose posing with 800 adoring women will do that 😂

What a day! The event went from 8am to 6pm. I have never experienced anything like it before, but am now keen to go to Comic-Con if that hits our shores....and will try to level up in my ‘fandom’ ways.
