What a day last Friday at Divas on the Green

It was an awesome day filled with laughter, noise, dancing and not much golf!!

Every year for the past 10 years or so I have had the best time attending this event at Merewether Golf Course in Newcastle NSW….and an added bonus is the event is Fancy Dress!!

Divas on the Green raises money for Hunter Breast Care Foundation and Westpac Rescue Helicopter and the idea is after lunch and buying Raffle tickets, we go out on the course and play golf…but ultimately we just walk or ride in the golf carts for about 5 minutes and then just sit down and chat ( or drink or dance ).

Michelle Faithfull organises this Fab event and every year I marvel at how she manages to put together everything for 300 ladies (and some men) and raise enormous amounts of cash for these wonderful charities.

This year’s theme was Las Vegas and the costumes were amazing with Grannies with a gambling Habit , to knocked up brides, Pokie machines, Flamingoes and my team being Poker Chips with myself being the dealer.

It makes for a very colourful day and sore feet after dancing up a storm (and sometimes that has happened quite literally).

Long live Vegas and long live Divas!!
