Selecting colours for a new build can be the most exciting part of the process. Classic and neutral colour palettes never go out of fashion and that’s still the case with interior selections in 2021.

We’re finding grey, black and white are still the most popular colours choices with clients.

Timber laminate is a popular choice for flooring and some clients are opting for ‘timber look’ tiles - a great option if you want the look of timber with the practicality of tiles. We’re also seeing timber accents for kitchen cupboards which add warmth and contrast.

Clients are loving classic black accents across taps, shower frames and kitchen cupboard handles, although concealed handles for cabinetry are still very popular.

For the kitchen, chrome and black gooseneck taps with veggie sprays are always on my colour variation lists, with many people choosing a larger 900mm oven (instead of the standard 600mm), and everyone still seems to love a gas cooktop!

When it comes to tiles we’re seeing accents of teal, off-white and grey with a herringbone pattern being popular in both kitchens and bathrooms. Sleek white vanities with a white stone bench top and round basins are also a popular choice.

Clients are very conscious of choosing colours that will be timeless and not go out of fashion in a year or so - that’s why all-white kitchens are a great choice, allowing clients to accessorise with kettles, tea towels and other appliances.

Happy Building!
