Most requested house features in 2022
Times have changed and we increasingly need our homes to adapt with those changes.
A lot of my clients start with one of my builders’ standard plans. We then work together to customise it to suit their specific requirements. Feature requests have certainly changed over the years, so let’s take a look at the most requested items for 2022:
A walk-in-pantry or butler’s pantry - with the fridge hidden in this space.
A kitchen island bench - everyone loves an island bench, and often without a sink, so there is a lot more room for entertaining.
Undermount kitchen sink - rather than the standard sink with a drain tray. The undermount sink creates a flush slimline appearance.
Bath in ensuite – this is becoming very popular and adds to the luxury of a gorgeous ensuite whist offering flexibility for growing families.
Laundry cupboards – gone are the days of a finished laundry containing only a tub. Clients want cupboards, and lots of them.
Frameless shower screen – silver shower frames are being replaced with simple glass panels as clients want a seamless look in the bathroom.
Large covered alfresco – an essential for our BBQ soirees, it extends your living space by giving you an outdoor ‘room’.
